Software Reviews of Norton Internet Security 2007 [Old Version]Customer Review: User Accounts Eliminated Summary: 3 StarsI've just upgraded to Norton Internet Security 2007 and installed the free Add-On pack which restores the Anti-Spam and Parental Controls features now missing from the basic product. I have two Administrator Windows accounts set up for the two adults using this computer, and a Limited account for a child. I had wanted Parental Control to be Off for the two adult users and On for the child. This is how I previously had configured Parental Control in NIS 2005.
However, I've been told through both Symantec's online chat and e-mailed "technical support" that NIS 2007 no longer supports user accounts, and that Parental Control can either be On or Off for all users. This makes the Parental Control feature worthless for families with adults and children sharing a computer. I regret having upgraded from NIS 2005.
Customer Review: Some people can be a little harsh.... its not that bad! Summary: 4 StarsI dont normally take the time to write reviews. However with how people have given this product such a bad wrap it almost stopped me making the purchase. I'm glad I did buy it in the end. I upgraded from Norton Antivirus 2006 and yes it does slow your computer down compared to not having it installed but your computer will be more vulnerable to threats by it not being there. The accumulation of these threats will also slow your computer down and probably cause more harm.
Therefore if you're at all a tollerant person and can be put out by your PC's performance suffering a tad this product I think is great and a definite step up from norton 2006.
Customer Review: Yours is a very bad software Summary: 1 StarsDo not buy this software. Do not install this software. It is plain awful. I have yet to successfully complete a full scan. My PC locks up and I must perform a hard reboot. I have attempted to contact support (ha!) and after 30 minutes waiting for a chat, and 15 minutes answering ridiculous questions I was told I had to ask someone else.
Instead of buying this software, just send me $60 and I'll promise not to send you any viruses or spam. That would be more protection than you would receive from Norton.
Customer Review: Symantec's Norton software IS a computer virus!!! Summary: 1 StarsSymantec's Norton Internet Security 2007 has destroyed my laptop! I can't even turn it on now! I couldn't register the software on the desktop computer, so it's basically just wasting memory because I can't uninstall it either! I spent the WHOLE DAY instant messaging their know-nothing technical support flunkies trying to resolve these issues, only tow be DISCONNECTED from 2 of them when the problems I was telling them about weren't on their two-page script. And they want to charge me $10 just to speak to some ignorant idiot who won't be able to help me! Help me put the greedy corporate money-grubbers at Symantec out of business by NOT BUYING THEIR USELESS PRODUCTS!!!!!!
Customer Review: Very intrusive. Summary: 1 StarsVery intrusive.
Instead of only alerting you when there are real viruses or spy wares it constantly interrupts you with non sense pop ups saying that everything is normal on your computer or your subscription would expire in 60 days, and I find this extremely annoying and intrusive and there is no way to turn the pop ups off.
