Customer Review: A great balance of all the factors

Because I'm a computer geek all my friends bring me their PCs when their machines go bad on them, and I insist they outfit their updated machines with this software because it's been rewritten to do what it does best AND be silently invisible while it's doing it and not be a drag on performance that you can feel. And Symantec is so big they'll certainly know about any new bad stuff as soon as anyone else and this software gets its updates very frequently. Being able to protect up to 3 PCs makes it even more cost-effective. The small downside is that antivirus software is an industry which depends on there being threats and this is a subscription model so you'll have to pay annually, and I don't like the "nagging" and scary wording that they still engage in. But it's a small price to pay compared the hours and hours I have to spend trying to restore unprotected computers when they get all messed up, or lose everything. PCs have no built-in automatic plug-and-play dead-simple backup like the Mac does and people usually get caught with their pants down. It's a fact that PCs are made to ultimately become so frustrating you will buy new and just start over. This helps delay the inevitable. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound, I mean a ton of cure! Highly recommended!

My new laptop had a trial version of Norton Internet Security pre-installed. I liked it and researched the product thoroughly. The "experts" all say that Norton Internet Security 2009 is the best product out there but Norton 360 sucks. Well, guess what my laptop Norton wanted me to upgrade to...Norton 360. There was no way to change the upgrade link to anything else. So I purchased this product and installed it without any problems. I will install it on my other two computers when the current security system on them expires...or sooner because I like Norton Internet Security 2009 so much more.

Very effective but unintrusive. This is the best version of NIS yet. I have used NIS & 360 for several years and each new version improves. The cards and logins works very well and save lots of keystrokes if you visit the same websites routinely. I particularly like the Norton Safe Search feature.
